The VinylZoo band was formed in 2008 out of the ashes of a previous covers band called the
‘Overbites’ in which Tom and Adam were members.
After the breakup of the 'Overbites', the original band practice room was no longer available so
Tom converted his summer house at home into a band rehearsal space and recording
studio and started to write and record material for a solo project.
Within weeks Adam had joined with original drummer Sean Rayner completing the line-up.
Over the last 10 years, the band hosted a succession of very fine players who each contributed to the
musical direction and sound of the VinylZoo.
Those players included:
As both Tom and Adam were fans of progressive and alternative rock music and mindful of the numerous other local bands playing classic rock covers, they agreed to write and play only original material despite the challenges this would bring in securing gigs, players and fans alike.
Leon Gadson joined in 2012 to take up the position of drummer where he's been ensconsed ever since. He's a brilliant drummer and has contributed immensely to the continued success and direction of the band.
In December 2018 we finally managed to secure the services of guitar virtuoso Eddie Webb. He's already made a remarkable difference to the sound of TVZ so 2019 looks a particulary exciting time for the VinylZoo band.
